Bora Pharmaceuticals has completed its takeover of Upsher-Smith from Sawai, with the acquisition opening up new US opportunities for the Taiwanese company including providing the firm with its first US manufacturing sites.

Bora Pharmaceuticals has completed its takeover of Minnesota-based Upsher-Smith Laboratories from Japanese former owner Sawai, with the deal opening up fresh opportunities for Bora as it eyes growth in the US market.

Notably, the Taiwanese firm now has US manufacturing operations, offering Bora “additional capacity to support its CDMO [contract development and manufacturing organization] business, but also add[ing] to its capability to serve
