Zimmer Biomet Lands Medtronic Exec As Its New CEO

The orthopedic giant hired a well-respected medtech industry veteran as its new CEO, leading to some seat-jumping within Medtronic's executive ranks.

Bryan C. Hanson is the new CEO of Zimmer Biomet Holdings Inc., joining the firm five months after David Dvorak relinquished the chief executive role for the orthopedic device firm.

Hanson brings with him significant industry experience, moving directly from his position as executive VP of Medtronic PLC's Minimally Invasive Therapies Group. He is taking the reins directly from Daniel P. Florin, who has served as interim CEO since July 2017, when Dvorak left amid some disappointing financial results
