Azalea Vision is testing a novel artificial iris embedded in a smart contact lens that could eventually be used to improve visual acuity in people with iris deficiencies.

The company is a new spin-off of Ghent University and Imec, a nanoelectronics and digital technology research hub based in Leuven, Belgium, that works with affiliated research groups around the world
