How Proactive Cybersecurity Can Protect Insulin Pump Users

Data security firm MedCrypt Inc. is partnering with six diabetes care companies to provide cybersecurity solutions for insulin pump and continuous glucose monitors (CGMs). According to Medcrypt senior director of quality and safety Naomi Schwartz, this goes beyond saving patient lives—it can ease the regulatory burden for manufacturers.

The partnerships were announced on 14 February. Medtech Insight spoke to Schwartz about the importance of proactive cybersecurity in the functionality of CGMs.
