Medtech Regulatory Cybersecurity Updates: Healthcare Working Group Introduced In Senate & Third-Party Cybersecurity Guidance Recognized By FDA

A bipartisan, healthcare cybersecurity working group has been launched in the Senate and the FDA now recognizes a guidance from the AAMI on cybersecurity risk management for medical devices.

A bipartisan group of senators announced a working group for healthcare in cybersecurity. The Senate Health Care Cybersecurity Working Group was launched on 2 November by Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Mark Warner (D-VA), John Cornyn (R-TX) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH).

The group will create legislation as a part of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee.
