England’s National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence is generally considered to be a tough gatekeeper to the country’s National Health Service, but decisions over the past month have been relatively benevolent – unlike those of its German health technology assessment counterpart, the Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care or IQWiG.
