Federal prosecutors in Pennsylvania file a complaint to seize 1,542 cases of DMAA-containing products from [GNC Holdings Inc.] and manufactured by USPlabs LLC. The complaint, which says OxyElite Pro Super Thermogenic and Jack3d are adulterated with DMAA, follows an FDA inspection of GNC’s Leetsdale, Pa., warehouse June 4-10, and an administrative detention order from FDA June 11. If the requested relief is granted, FDA will be allowed to dispose of the products. GNC said it will not distribute the products until the issue is resolved between FDA and USPlabs. "GNC believes that DMAA is a safe, legal dietary ingredient. We are unaware if FDA has detained these same products in other retailers' distribution facilities," the firm said.
