Gottlieb: The Next Janet Woodcock Is Waiting To Be Discovered At FDA

In interview with the Pink Sheet, US FDA Commissioner says the agency needs new ways for in-house talent to more easily rise to supervisory and executive levels.

The next Janet Woodcock may already be working among FDA's rank-and-file staff, waiting to be discovered. Commissioner Scott Gottlieb is considering what tools are available to ensure that talent is nurtured and rewarded quickly.

In an interview with the Pink Sheet and sister publication Medtech Insight, Gottlieb said one of his priorities for improving the agency staff is allowing faster internal promotion when appropriate. He said the agency's recent growth has made it much more difficult for a reviewer to rise like Woodcock
