The US FDA's Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee will convene March 1 to vote on the World Health Organization's (WHO's) 2018-2019 strain selection for northern hemisphere influenza virus vaccines amid the agency's concerns over the efficacy of the current season's vaccines.
WHO is specifically recommending the following four strains for quadrivalent flu vaccines for the northern hemisphere's next winter: an A/Michigan/45/2015 (H1N1)pdm09-like virus, an A/Singapore/INFIMH-16-0019/2016 (H3N2)-like virus, a B/Colorado/06/2017-like virus
