UnitedHealthcare Will Share The Savings: Point-Of-Sale Rebates Coming In 2019

Biopharma manufacturers scored a policy win with UnitedHealthcare's announcement that it will redirect negotiated drug rebates to offset member cost sharing at the point-of-sale beginning in 2019.

The new rebate program will be available to the more than seven million individuals enrolled in UnitedHealthcare's fully-insured commercial group benefit plans. It will apply to any drug that receives a manufacturer rebate and is dispensed through retail pharmacies or mail order
