Two days before a congressional committee is to hold a hearing on two dozen bills to address the opioid crisis, President Trump held an event to tout the Administration's plans to deal with opioid abuse and addiction.

Speaking at Manchester Community College in New Hampshire March 19, Trump declared that the government would be spending $6bn additional dollars to combat the crisis in 2018 and would increase federal funding for the development of non-addictive pain killers, though he did not specify a sum
