US congressional action comes as HHS forwards proposed rule on enhancing drug pricing transparency to Office of Management and Budget for review.

The US Senate approved a federal spending billl Aug. 23 that includes a provision authorizing HHS to develop regulations requiring the disclosure of prescription drug pricing in direct-to-consumer advertising and providing funding for it.
