A clinical trial involving four experimental therapies against Ebola virus disease has begun in the DRC, where efforts to stem a growing epidemic are being hindered by a sharp increase in cases of malaria in the northeast of the country.

The first ever multi-drug clinical trial against Ebola has started in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where the latest outbreak of the virus in North Kivu province has so far caused 421 confirmed or suspected cases of disease, and 194 confirmed deaths.
