New York Attorney General Letitia James makes new allegations against opioid makers and distributors in an amended complaint that could intensify the pressure on them to settle the ever-growing flood of litigation.

James announced the filing of the complaint at a March 28 press conference, calling it the "nation's most extensive lawsuit" against manufacturers and distributors of opioid products. Like the more than 1,500 suits that have been filed against opioid makers, this one alleges deceptive marketing by six manufacturers
