The World Health Organization is inviting stakeholder feedback on its proposal to develop a framework for evaluating and publicly designating regulatory authorities as WHO-listed authorities (WLAs).
The new WLA framework will replace the current concept of "stringent regulatory authority" (SRA), which denotes that a national competent agency meets certain WHO-specified performance and criteria. The WHO last year explained that it wanted to move away from the SRA concept as it is no longer seen as a suitable process for designating authorities and has negative connotations
