US Health and Human Services Department Secretary-nominee Xavier Becerra will move quickly on policies to lower drug prices if confirmed, he told the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee during a hearing on his nomination 23 February.

The session served as a “courtesy” hearing because the HELP panel is not the committee of jurisdiction for voting on the nomination. That will be handled by the Finance Committee, which has a hearing on Becerra’s nomination scheduled for 24 February
