Drug Pricing Among Range Of Issues Senators Want HHS Nominee Becerra To Work On

Senate Finance confirmation hearing concluded without a vote on Xavier Becerra’s nomination as Health and Human Services Department secretary. Republicans continued to express concerns with his background and views. But he is expected to win enough votes to clear the committee.

Members of the US Senate Finance Committee raised a broad range of issues from drug pricing to racial health disparities, rural health care challenges and the need to improve mental health services during a confirmation hearing on Xavier Becerra’s nomination as Health and Human Services secretary on 24 February. But the discussion was notable more for its breadth than its depth.
