The European Commission has issued draft legislation to speed up the approval of COVID-19 vaccines that have been modified to tackling emerging variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

The “delegated regulation” – published on 24 March – will “allow companies to focus on gathering the necessary evidence in time and enable the authorization of adapted vaccines with a smaller set of additional data
