As part of its efforts to bolster Europe’s readiness for health emergencies, the European Commission wants to make sure that additional production capacity is available at short notice.

Pharmaceutical companies in the EU are to be invited to offer up part of their manufacturing capacity for the production of new vaccines and therapeutics in the event of a future health emergency, such as another pandemic.
