Larger, mainly urban hospitals participating in the 340B outpatient drug discount program have lost 23% of the savings generated through contract pharmacies over the past year as a result of restrictions imposed by a growing number of manufacturers, according to a report released by hospital advocacy group 340B Health.
The report reflects responses to a survey of 510 member hospitals fielded by the organization in November and December 2021. The total represents about 19% of participating 340B hospitals, according to data maintained by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), which oversees the program
