The standard monthly premium for Medicare Part B enrollees will be $164.90 in 2023, down $5.20 from a peak of $170.10 in 2022, in anticipation of much lower than previously expected spending on Biogen, Inc.’s Alzheimer’s drug Aduhelm, mainly because of Medicare coverage restriction imposed under a national coverage determination.
