From 1 July, specifically authorized psychiatrists in Australia will be able to start prescribing medicines containing the psychedelic substances psilocybin and MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxy-methamphetamine) for treating treatment-resistant depression and post-traumatic stress disorder respectively.
