Hatch on Jan. 2 announced from the Senate floor that he will not to seek re-election and will leave office when he his term ends this year, and 24 years after Congress passed the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act as a framework for FDA's regulation of vitamin, mineral and supplement product manufacturing and marketing
