Firms Spread Diaper Rash, Skin Care Brands, Move Lice Kit License In OTC Sector Deals

Randob Labs agreed to purchase the Balmex brand of baby and adult skin protectants from Moberg Pharma for $4.25m. Mission Pharmacal divested to MainPointe topical analgesic brand Thera-Gesic and the Dr. Smith’s line of infant and adult skin protectant ointments and sprays.

Diaper rash and skin protectant brands are changing hands in two recent OTC drug sector deals.

Randob Labs Ltd. on March 6 announced an agreement to purchase the Balmex brand of baby and adult zinc oxide skin protectants from Moberg Pharma AB for $4.25m. Cornwall, N.Y.-based Randob, which expects the deal to close with the Swedish firm in April, also stated that growth in US diaper rash sales was 3.3% in 2017, more than overall OTC sales growth, 1.8%
