Perrigo Fattens European Play, But Remains Main Course On Mylan’s M&A Plate

Acquiring Naturwohl Pharma likely will not put Perrigo out of Mylan’s reach. The generic Rx firm, a takeover target of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., has made multiple offers Perrigo has turned down and will ask its shareholders in August to approve a hostile takeover bid.

Perrigo Co. PLC feeds its European growth strategy with a German meal-replacement product firm in a deal not likely to make it too big to swallow should Mylan NV’s shareholders approve a hostile takeover bid.

Perrigo on July 22 announced it is acquiring Naturwohl Pharma GmbH, maker of the Yokebe line of meal- replacement and weight-loss supplement drink mixes expected to generate 2015 sales of around €30 million ($32.6 million)
