POM Wonderful pomegranate dietary supplement marketer The Wonderful Co. is represented in the Aspen Institute’s inaugural “Health Innovators” fellowship class by its chief medical officer, Rishi Manchanda. The Washington-based institute for educational and policy studies on July 13 announced that Manchanda and 19 other participants each will spend four weeks over the next two years on a commitment “to launching a leadership venture that will stretch and challenge them and have a positive impact on health care in the United States.” Manchanda joined Wonderful Co. in June, the same month the firm, which is embroiled with the Federal Trade Commission in long-running litigation about substantiating claims for its POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice and POMx pills and liquid supplements, changed its name from Roll Global LLC ([A#05150608001]). He also is the California HealthCare Foundation chief fellow at the University of California-San Francisco Center for the Health Professions and the founder and leader of non-profits HealthBegins, for improving health care systems’ performance, and Rx Democracy targeting ending civic and health disparities through civic and voter engagement in healthcare settings.
