Using common OTC anti-inflammatories when suffering from minor bacterial infections could trigger serious health complications, and even lead to death, France’s national medicines regulator, ANSM, has warned.
The agency is advising both adults and children to severely limit their use of ibuprofen and ketoprofen, particularly when suffering from a cough, cold, otitis, chickenpox, skin lesions or pulmonary infections, and to treat pain and/or fever with paracetamol
