France’s drugs regulator ANSM is poised to move sore throat treatments containing alpha-amylase behind the pharmacy counter over fears the products could trigger severe allergic reactions.
The plan would see drugs indicated to treat mild to severe cases of sore throat in adults and children – marketed by Sanofi, Biogaran and Top Pharm – removed from “free access” displays in pharmacies, meaning consumers would have to ask the pharmacist for the products
