Interpol Cracks Down On Global Trade In Illegal Coronavirus Medicines

As part of its latest Operation Pangea exercise, international crime agency Interpol seized over 30,000 counterfeit products claiming to treat or prevent Covid-19, including unauthorized antiviral medication such as chloroquine.

The International Criminal Police Organisation – more commonly known as Interpol – has seized more than 34,000 counterfeit products claiming to be effective against the coronavirus, including unauthorized antiviral medication, counterfeit facemasks and substandard hand sanitizers.

Taking place between 3-10 March, law enforcement agencies taking part in Operation Pangea found 2,000 online links advertising
