The false advertising case in New York federal court is one to watch for any cosmetics company using probiotic claims. Are consumers of “probiotic”-containing cosmetics getting what they reasonably expect?

Clinique Laboratories, LLC advertises its Clinique Redness Solutions line as containing probiotics when in reality there are no live organisms in the products, according to a class action complaint filed on 3 March in New York’s Southern District.
