US FDA’s Position Hasn’t Changed On Hydrogen Peroxide Teeth Whiteners

With cases pending in federal courts concerning Colgate Optic White claims, HBW Insight reached out to the FDA for clarification on the regulatory status of hydrogen peroxide-containing teeth whitening products.

The US Food and Drug Administration says its OTC drug rulemaking overtures to date “in no way imply” that hydrogen peroxide’s use as a teeth-whitening agent is safe or effective.

But it is not obviously dangerous either
