CIR Expert Panel Tentatively OKs Silicate Ingredients With Crystalline Caveats; Full Meeting Results

The Cosmetic Ingredient Review’s Expert Panel for Cosmetic Ingredient Safety issued seven final assessments, six tentative reports and two insufficient data announcements at its virtual meeting on March 11-12.

Twenty-four silicate ingredients are safe for use in cosmetics that are not expected to be incidentally inhaled with use, provided that they are formulated to be non-irritating, according to a tentative safety assessment from US-based Cosmetic Ingredient Review’s independent expert panel.
