Burt’s Bees Joins Beauty Brands In Court Over PFAS

Plaintiff Daniela Gruen says Burt’s Bees mascaras and lip shimmer are worthless or worth less than purchase price because the company failed to disclose that the products contain toxic and environmentally hazardous PFAS. She cites independent testing published last year by Mamavation in her complaint filed in California’s Northern District.

The Clorox Company misleads consumers with Burt’s Bees products advertised as “Kind to Skin & Planet,” which in reality contain chemicals linked to human health and environmental harm, according to a proposed class action filed on 15 February in California’s Northern District.
