Taiwan Seeks Help From Biotechs To Develop H7N9 Vaccine

Taiwan plans to move as quickly to solicit help from private biotech companies to produce a vaccine for the deadly H7N9 avian flu, with other Asian government watching closely to see if cases appear outside of mainland China.

TAIPEI – Taiwan plans to start development of a vaccine for the H7N9 avian flu strain as early as next week, seeking the help of private biotech companies ahead of expected samples of the new virus to be flown in from mainland China, where the disease has claimed more than a dozen lives to date.
