SHANGHAI – More Chinese drug manufacturers are making forays into the erectile dysfunction market with cheaper homegrown generics after Guangzhou Baiyunshan Pharmaceutical Co Ltd. revealed that its generic version of Pfizer Inc.’s Viagra (sildenafil), Jin’ge, hit sales revenue of more than CNY100m ($15.6m) in the first half of 2015. But the domestic contenders still face challenges in gaining share from the originator.
