Aprogen Strikes Third Global Biosimilar Deal With Nichi-Iko

South Korean biotech firm Aprogen is emerging as another notable player in the increasingly crowded biosimilar space and the company has just reached its third worldwide biosimilar deal since 2014, again with Japan’s Nichi-Iko and this time for its rituximab product.

SEOUL - Aprogen Inc., which is poised to launch its biosimilar infliximab in Japan this year, has agreed to grant global sales rights, excluding South Korea, to AP056, its biosimilar version of Roche’s anti-CD20 antibody Rituxan/MabThera (rituximab), to Japan’s biggest generics company Nichi-Iko Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd.

Aprogen will receive an initial payment of KRW10bn ($8.6m) as part of the deal
