2015 was a truly remarkable year for early-stage venture capital investment in the life science sector. The total amount of money raised in A rounds by life science companies (biopharma, pharma, medtech, diagnostics) was the highest ever in a single year; at close to $3.9 billion, the total in 2015 was nearly double the highest previous year.
