Investors Boost Metabolic Companies

Investments in endocrine/metabolic disease-focused medtech companies reached a four-year high in 2015. Biopharma companies grabbed the majority of the funds that have been raised since 2012, and among medtechs, those focused on diabetes fared best.

The global market for type 2 diabetes drugs will increase 74% – from $24.7 billion in 2015 to $43.1 billion in 2024 – in the US, Japan and five major EU markets (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK), according to Informa's Datamonitor
