The company is aiming to position the antibiotic as a first-line option to treat CABP, rather than as an antibiotic to be held in reserve for only the sickest patients.
The strategy is precisely in-line with the over-arching theme of antibiotic stewardship, because of the targeted nature of lefamulin, according to CEO Colin Broom.
