Compugen Concentrates On Pipeline After AZ Antibody Pact

It is nearly five years since Compugen signed a deal with Bayer but with AstraZeneca paying $10m up front for a license to develop bispecific and multi-specific antibody products derived from its pipeline, the Tel Aviv-headquartered biotech's computational discovery approach has been validated.

Compugen Ltd. has bagged a second big pharma partner in AstraZeneca PLC in a deal which will provide a cash boost to help the Israeli biotech advance its own assets into the clinic.

The deal, which is with AstraZeneca's biologics R&D arm MedImmune, gives the latter an exclusive license to develop bispecific and multi-specific antibody products derived from Compugen's pipeline
