The major has terminated its deal with Alector for a SIGLEC-3 targeting Alzheimer’s candidate but is forging ahead with another novel drug covered by the firms’ collaboration in the challenging condition.

AbbVie Inc. has terminated its partnership with Alector Inc. for the latter’s novel Alzheimer’s candidate, AL003, but the US firm has another AbbVie-partnered drug up its sleeve plus a promising pipeline.

Alector had been reviewing next steps for the AL003 program with AbbVie but the major has decided to cut things short, Alector revealed in a 7 June US Securities and Exchange Commission filing
