Horizon Megadeal: J&J Out, Experts Say Sanofi Could Have Edge On Amgen

Janssen has dropped out of the running to acquire Irish biotech Horizon, leaving Sanofi and Amgen to vie over the potential megadeal, with some observers identifying the former as the better fit.

Janssen Pharmaceuticals Inc. has revealed it has no intention to place a bid on Horizon Therapeutics plc less than a week after the Dublin-based biotech was forced to reveal under Irish Takeover Rules that it was engaging in early discussions with three big pharma firms.
