Kim Kardashian’s lifestyle company SKIMS has acquired the SKKN by Kim for Kim Kardashian and COTY, bringing her name, likeness and image rights under the SKIMs brand, LA-based SKIMs reports 24 March. “By acquiring Kardashian’s majority stake and Coty Inc.’s minority stake in SKKN by Kim, SKIMS consolidates Kardashian’s lifestyle portfolio, integrating her expertise in cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance into its ecosystem,” the firm said. Coty had purchased a 20% interest in Kardashian’s former brand KKW Beauty for $200m in 2020, as an effort to expand KKW Beauty into new product categories, namely skin care, hair care, personal care and nail care. Kardashian had launched KKW in 2017 but shuttered the brand with her divorce with Kanye West in 2021; she rebranded her beauty under SKKN by Kim a short while later.
