The 22-foot wide, 15-foot high quantum computer sitting in IBM’s lab in Yorktown Heights, NY, is the state of the art in this mysterious area of computing. Dubbed Quantum System Two, the computer is kept in a cryogenic cabinet at temperatures colder than deep space. 

By the end of 2024, IBM – which touts the machine as the computer for an upcoming era of “quantum utility” – said the modular system will be able to process 5,000 operations simultaneously
