But today, the surgical robot is just one component in the digital transformation that is at the core of modern surgery, according to an expert panel discussing “The Evolution of Surgery” at the AdvaMed Virtual Digital MedTech conference.

Although robotic surgeries make up less than 10% of all surgeries today, the integration of cutting-edge technologies such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, intraoperative and decision-support tools, and post-operative applications are part of a major shift to a seamless, connected surgical ecosystem, said panelist Celine Martin, company group
