EU, PAHO Ink €3.8m Deal To Boost Access To Health Technologies in Latin America & Caribbean

Increasing the capacity for local development and production of medicines and other health technologies in Latin America and the Caribbean is among the objectives of the new deal.

The European Commission and the Pan American Health Organization have signed a €3.8m ($4.17m) agreement that will be used to boost capacity in innovation and manufacturing of vaccines, medicines and other health technologies in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The partnership agreement was inked during the third EU-CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) summit meeting, which took place in Brussels, Belgium, on 17-18 July
