UK Turmeric Supplement Ads Outed For Using Claims 'On Hold' At EFSA

In separate rulings, ASA upholds complains that Healthspan and Cambridge Nutraceuticals made unapproved health claims for turmeric, as the firms did not provide sufficient supporting evidence and cannot rely on similar “on hold” claims on the ingredient under review by EFSA.

Turmeric benefit claims pending at the European Food Safety Authority do not support joint health claims made by two UK marketers of turmeric dietary supplements, says the country's Advertising Standards Authority.
