Revlon Group Inc. has promoted Debra Perelman, daughter of board Chairman Ronald Perelman, from chief operating officer to president and CEO. Perelman, the first woman to helm Revlon, has been with the New York firm more than 20 years in operational and leadership positions across the business and is on the senior leadership team at her father’s investment firm, MacAndrews & Forbes Inc.

She oversaw corporate strategy and led Revlon’s ongoing digital transformation, including forming a data and analytics group, the firm said on May 23. As CEO, Perelman will focus on enhancing Revlon’s consumer and customer-focused approach, “where personalization, inclusion, usability and passion for beauty are the cornerstones,” Revlon said. In January, former CEO Fabian Garcia announced he would step down after failing to turnaround the struggling business during his two years at the helm; daily operations have been overseen by Executive Vice Chairman Paul Meister
