Pfizer Feels The Heat As ThermaCare Recall Spreads To Europe

A problem with overheating heat cells in Pfizer's ThermaCare OTC pain-relief patch is not limited to the US market, the company has discovered, prompting recalls across four European markets.

Pfizer Inc. has widened the scope of its ThermaCare Heatwraps recall to outside the US after identifying issues with certain lots distributed in Europe.

The firm has issued recalls in Germany, the UK, Switzerland and Ireland for specific lots of its ThermaCare Lower Back & Hip Heatwraps because heat cells in the OTC transdermal patch could reach higher temperatures than specified
