The US Food and Drug Administration should issue an import alert for dietary supplements or ingredients that fail to comply with new dietary ingredient notification (NDIN) requirements to protect the public and intellectual property, according to the Natural Products Association.
“Creating an import alert for new dietary ingredients that have failed to comply with the NDIN regulations would provide the agency with the ability to police the market in a way that is resource-efficient and consistent with the goals of protecting the public’s health and provide the intellectual property protection the industry desperately needs,” president and CEO Daniel Fabricant says in a 1 June
